Knee arthroscopy is an affective treatment for mechanical knee symptoms such as catching or locking. Using small cuts with the aid of cameras it can be used to remove or repair tears in meniscus or cartilage, remove loose bodies and is also used for ligament reconstruction such as anterior cruciate ligament. It is not affective once the joint is significantly worn.
You will be able to go home a few hours after your procedure and recovery is usually rapid but depends on the pathology being treated.
Complications following knee arthroscopy are rare and are usually minor and easily treated
